Mayor, City Giving Green Gifts for the Holidays This Year
11/23/2007 - Released by Mayor's Office For more information contact Parks Department at 617-635-4989
Gift will fund tree plantings throughout City
Tired of giving the same old sweater or fruitcake as holiday gifts? Are you looking for a gift that can help your community and the environment? Well, look no further. This year, the City of Boston is offering the gift of trees, a gift that could ultimately last a lifetime. For $50, the City will ensure that a tree is planted in Boston as part of our Grow Boston Greener campaign, which will plant 100,000 trees in Boston by 2020. Trees will be planted on both public property and private property to reach our goal.
You can make this donation as a unique gift. This donation will offset the use of a Christmas tree, the sending of holiday cards, or for those simply in the spirit of giving. Trees make great gifts to both you and your neighborhood. Best of all, your donation helps support trees citywide
The recipient of the gift will receive a holiday card from the donor and the donor will receive a letter of receipt. This gift is a tax deductable donation to the Fund for Parks Department, paid by check.
Please mail checks to:
Fund for Parks and Recreation Boston Parks & Recreation Department Gift Tree Program 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor Boston, MA 02118 or call (617) 635-4989 for more information.
